A frigid day in December, it was Tina’s birthday and was laid out on the couch depressed. She was thinking about Anthony cheating on her. She was thinking about her husband and the woman he was cheating with. Even though she didn’t have any proof; she knew 100% he was with another woman. She was drenched in tears and used her white tank top to mop her face periodically. She should have been dressed and ready to go out and celebrate; instead she was listening to depressing music.

“I am not gonna to cry…..I am not going to cry…..I am not going to shed no tears……because you’re not worth my time.” She blasted Mary J. Blige.

Kim used her key to come check on the birthday girl. She was decked out like a movie star with a black mink jacket, black jeans, black and silver spaghetti strap shirt and black Louboutin heels. Kim hung her coat in the closet and hugged her sister. Tina tried to dry her eyes, so her sister wouldn’t see her cry.

“Happy Birthday! How does it feel?” Kim smiled.

“It pretty much feels the same, but thank you so much.” Tina smiled through her tears.

“You’re welcome boo.” The room became silent for a second.

Tina looks up towards the ceiling. “Oh God, why me? Why do I have to deal with so much with one man? Why does he keep hurting me, and all I do is reward him with my heart.” Tina says while breaking down crying on Kim’s shoulder.

“Hey…..hey….what is it now? You guys always going through something. If he doesn’t see the great woman in you; then you don‘t have to be here. Now if you are this unhappy with him you need to leave, or do something. Don’t you think?” Kim hugged her sister.

“Kim….no. I cannot leave him. I…I…don’t have a job. I don’t have an education; I can barely cook, and don’t even know how to take care of bills. Where am I going to go? I am a damn housewife. All I do is take care of Kristen while he is on the road doing God knows what. He is a truck driver risking and taking care of his family. And I don’t do nothing, but sit my butt here.” she admitted.

“But you can do so much more Tina. Okay, you act like you can’t learn how to cook or pay bills. You can go back to school and get your education. You are never too old to go back and begin your future. You can do this Tina. You just need a backbone.” Kim encouraged her, and wiped her sister’s tears.

“I do have a backbone…..and it’s not giving me any support at all. He calls me lazy ass, every time I talk to him. That hurts me. It hurt Kim, because I know I can do so much better…..I‘m just scared.” The tears began to fall again.

“What are you scared of?” Kim asked.

“Failing…failing….this man took me in as a woman and…..” Tina says with her head down.
